A proven educational methodology, developed between 1999 and 2001, empowering teachers, parents, and practitioners to support children's education and emotional development.
ImaginationGYM® was authored by Rosaleen Durkin and Peter Blackbyrne between 1999 and 2001. The methodology grew out of Rosaleen's decade of primary school teaching and subsequent clinical practice in educational and nutritional kinesiology, combined with Peter's background in media, IT and music industries.
Before any product reached schools, the programme was rigorously field-tested across more than 400 sites in Ireland, Europe and North America — including primary schools, special education settings, hospitals, clinics, women's refuges and prisons. This breadth of real-world testing shaped every aspect of the methodology.
The audio programmes were recorded in Hollywood, California to movie industry standards. Today, over 80 schools in the UK and Ireland have trained staff in the ImaginationGYM® methodology, and the programme has been featured at university level including Bath Spa University (2003), Queen's University Belfast MA programme (2004), and Liverpool Hope University.
